AI is changing how we test software. Test generation, failure triage, agentic QA workflows, LLMs writing and maintaining tests - it's moving fast, and most of the resources out there are either too academic or too hype-driven.

AI in QA is the gap between those two. A weekly newsletter that pulls together the tools, techniques, research, and news that actually matter to people doing the work.

What Shows Up in Each Issue

AI Testing Tools & Frameworks - New releases, updates, and hands-on looks at tools like Playwright's AI features, AI codegen for tests, and model-powered assertion libraries.

Techniques & Tutorials - How-tos for integrating AI into your QA workflows. Prompt engineering for test generation, using LLMs to triage flaky tests, building agentic testing pipelines.

Research & Benchmarks - Studies, data, and reports on how AI is performing in real testing environments. Not hype, numbers.

Headlines & Launches - Product releases, industry shifts, and news that affects how you test.

Foundations - Core and foundational AI in QA articles. The pieces that establish how we got here and where things are headed. Not necessarily new, but essential reading.

Quick Links - The rest of what caught our eye, in a single click.

Who This Is For

QA engineers, SDETs, test leads, and engineering managers trying to figure out where AI fits into testing. Whether you're evaluating AI testing tools, experimenting with LLMs in your CI pipeline, or just trying to stay informed without drowning in noise.

Who's Behind This

I'm Butch Mayhew. I run AI in QA alongside Playwright Solutions and the AIinQA Youtube Review. I'm a Microsoft MVP, Playwright Ambassador, Author, and LinkedIn Learning instructor. Day job: AI Trainer at DevClarity, where I help teams adopt AI tools with structure instead of chaos.

I started this newsletter because I was saving links every week anyway. Figured other people doing the same work might benefit from the curation.
